PRECURSORS

The Precursors are a non humanoid sentient species that developed an advanced spacefaring civilisation. Their civilization was based around the Mantle, a belief hat it was their role to protect all life in the galaxy. They presumably monitored the evolution of other sentient species throughout the galaxy, intervening in ways that ensured their civilizations would follow paths of peace, free of conflict. They were chased and destroyed by one of those younger species, the forerunners, in a war that took place some 150 000 years ago, presumably upon learning that they had chosen the humans as heirs to the Mantle instead of them. The Precursors unleashed the Flood to avenge this act of agression.
Precursors are believed to be"very large", with 4 upper limbs and 2 legs. Also having an "ugly head shaped like arthropods" - like spiders or crabs or scorpions - they have oval, faceted slanted eyes and a "flat face". Coming from the back of the head is a long tail with a 2 meter barb coming out of it but no visual record of individuals of the species exist as of now.

PROGENITORS / ANCIENT HUMANOIDS

The ancient humanoids are among the oldest planetbound sentient species to evolve in the Milky Way Galaxy some 4.5 billion years ago. They seeded the primordial environments of many planets with a DNA code that would direct the evolution of life towards a form similar to their own. Earth, Indri VIII, Loren III, Ruah IV and Vilmor II are known to have been directly seeded but other species that likely originated from seeded primordial seas included Klingons, Vulcans, and Cardassians, and probably most humanoid species.
Rumors have it that some of the fragments of DNA also contained parts of a computer program designed to display a holographic message from an ancient humanoid explaining its race and their actions. It was hoped that their descendant species would come together in the spirit of cooperation in order to assemble the program. This message was supposedly discovered in the 24th century.
Note: In Doctor Who, The Timelords are said to have had a similar plans, establishing a morphic field so that the species that would develop on other planets would have a physiology similar to their own.

FIRST ONES / TRAVELLERS / WALKERS AT SIGMA 957

Planet of Origin: Sigma 957
The Walkers are amongst the oldest races in our galaxy. With an unending Thirst for knowledge and a desire to learn every aspect of the Universe, they ended up possessing more knowledge individually than entire species. They started out as a large thick skinned creatures with poor séances and high psychokinetic capacities. They never rudimentary developed tools as they could construct things physically with there mind. They resorted to technology for complex constructs such as computers or automated construction machines. They soon started exploring space and at the same time the other dimensions and soon became nomadic explorers. They first discovered Thirdspace, which they mapped out in secret, due tu the violent and chaotic nature of its natives, then, hyperspace, which lead the way to yet other dimensions. They evolved beyond the physical state over a million years ago.
In our galaxy, they’ve been known to deposit their informations in two massive uninhabited databases. One at Sigma 957 and another one that was destroyed by asteroid impact.
They usually travel inside huge Science lab made for research and interdimensionnal and interuniversal travel.

SKRULLS

Planet of Origin: Skrullos, Drox system, Andromeda M31 Galaxy

Millions of years ago, the entities known as the Celestials performed genetic experiments on the reptilian ancestors of the Skrulls, resulting in three subspecies; one with an unstable genome and shapeshifting abilities, one which was composed of immortals at the peak of their genetic potential, and one which had implanted inside them a latent gene series that would later promote rapid mutations. They warred with one another. The shapeshifters were triumphant, and after wiping out all other Skrulls began to expand their territory. They would later split into two more groups, one being the modern Skrulls and the other being called the Dire Wraiths, a parasitic race that could shapeshift, drain the life essence and memories out of its victims. They could use magic, but were not as technologically advanced as the Skrulls. And so the Skrulls forced them to flee the Skrull domain. They were eventually exterminated in the late 20th century.

In their interstellar age, the Skrulls evolved into a peaceful civilization, primarily interested in free trade and willing to share their technology with all races they deemed worthy. Their shape-shifting powers helped them foster bonds with their trading partners.

About one million years ago, a Skrull delegation came to the planet Hala in the Bama system in the Greater Magellanic Cloud, home to the then barbaric Kree humanoids and the peaceful Cotati plantoids. They held a contest between the two races to determine with whom the Skrulls would trade. The Cotati won, but the vengeful Kree massacred the Skrull delegation, took over the Skrull landing spaceship by force, and developed their own technology from it with which they began waging war against the Skrulls, decimating ten of their worlds. The Kree aggression molded the Skrulls into a ruthless militaristic civilization bent on eradicating their aggressor. Their war has continued on and off to this day. It is possibly this war that cristallised the skrulls in their modern social form.

Modern Skrulls are highly advanced sexuate sentient shapeshifters of reptilian origin. In their social form, they appear like green skinned humanoids the same height and weight as Kree (and humans), with large pointed ears and corrugated chins. They are able to assume virtually any form, be it organic or inorganic, adjusting there density to fit larger or smaller volumes. As a result, the Skrulls excel at spying and infiltration. Skrulls are also able to use their shapeshifting abilities to form weapons (eg. blades and clubs) with parts of their bodies, making them dangerous hand-to-hand combatants.

Despite the fact that young Skrulls hatch from eggs, mothers nurse their children to provide nourishment. They live an average of 210 years.

A hundred thousands years ago, Skrull scientists created the first Cosmic Cube, a device which could transform thoughts into reality. The power hungry emperor used it to expand his personal influence and holdings throughout the empire, but in time, the Cube developed a consciousness of its own. It patterned its personality on that of its user and destroyed two-thirds of the Skrull empire before realizing it had made a mistake. After time and hard work, the empire of the Skrulls was restored. It is at this time that the Skrull Throneworld was moved from Skrullos to the more central Tarnax IV.

During the second half of the 20th century, possibly after detecting Kree activites on the planet and realizing its population had also been subject to Celestial manipulations, the Skrull Empire showed interest in conquering Earth.

In 1984, After his Herald Nova annihilates the Skrull fleet, Tarnax was devoured by the Galactus entity. This plunged the Skrull empire in a power vaccum as the fight between five warlords for leadership threw their civilisation into a open civil war, which eventually lead to a reopening of the hostilities on the part of the Kree. Once a new empress gained access to the throne, negotiation of a truce with the Kree after defeating them in a decisive battle brought back peace. She quickly restered the empire and reesablished the throneworld on a planet named Satriana.

In 1993, a high ranking Skrull mounted a campaign to invade Earth. The plan, however, failed, and ended with the destruction of the "War World", the Skrulls' flagship. To this loss soon added up the destruction of Satriana and the death of the empress, causing the collapse of the Skrull Empire once more.

In 2007, The Skrull Empire, barely back on its feet, was also the first of the major interstellar empires to be hit by the Annihilation Wave, an highly advanced and aggressive outer-dimensionnal communal insectoid species that laid waste to much of the Empire, destroying dozens of Skrull planets. The Skrulls are now attempting to convince a Skrull-Kree hybrid, to become the new Emperor.

MAZONES / SYLVIDRES

Planet of origin: Mazone Homeworld (somewhere in a now dead galaxy further away than Andromeda from the Milky Way)
An ancient intergalactic civilisation of highly advanced vegetal
sentient lifeforms.
While they can change their shape and meld with some other more primitive vegetal lifeforms, most mazones look like thin women with a white skin and long flowing green hair. While they can breathe underwater and lay dormant for untold ages under cold climate, Intense heat makes them burst in flame. Unless harmed, Mazones have incredibly long lifespans and a possibly immortal.

Mazones can reproduce either by germination from a seed or by budding (in the only recorded example of these, the "mother" was in a tate of dormancy. It is not kwown if active mazones can reproduce this way). Some examples of sexuate reproduction with members of other species have been reported but in the absence of further examination, this could be camouflaged budding. Either by choice or for bological imperatives - it remains unknown - they can enter period of dormance that can last for several million years during which time they meld along the regular flora. There is evidence that they either can also manipulate lower plant forms or have at their disposal some more primitive species to do their biddings, like was demontrated on the Antarean/Juran/Nibelung homeworld where giant plants litteraly wiped out the local population under the control of the Mazones. The exact nature of these thralls remains unclear.
Although each Mazone is a complete individual, their social structure seems follow the structure of a hive, with everyone following blindly the wills of their charismatic and undisputed leader, Queen Lafressia. Their use of the word "Queen" seems to refer more to its Hive definition than to that of a monarchic leader, as there appears to be no nobility around her, only the military hierarchy of which she seems to be the ultimate commander.
Mazones settled in several galaxies of the Local Group and installed seeding plants on several worlds and influenced (or as they claim, created) the evolution of the lifeforms they felt was better suited to take care of the planet as they flet it should be. Among such world are Earth in theMilky Way and Tokarga in the Lesser Magellanic Cloud (the Third Galaxy). Mankind and the Tokargans are supposedly examples of mazone-bred cattle lifeforms. Mazone Seeding plants are usually recognizable from the outside by their Pyramid shapes. The pyramids, though, are only gateways to pocket universes with their own physical laws, whch are filled with Mazone seeds in suspension in nutrient fluids, waiting to be brought to the real world to germinate.
Mazones in the Solar System were known to be active on Venus and Earth some
80 000 000 years ago. A black sphere beacon set to land on Earth in 2977 is equipped with the necessary equipment to emit a signal to awaken the dormant Earth Mazone population. They might have have other awakened period in between, but as Mazone individuals have a tendancy to meld with the human population, this information remains unknown and undocumented.
The Mazones possess a base on Venus, and on Earth in the Bermuda Triangle. Some other Mazone sites include the Nile Valley, the Amazone and the Asian South-west.
