DAVANNANS

NotOfThisEarth
Planet of Origin: Davanna, in the Milky Way galaxy
The Davannans are a humanoid species wich developed an advanced emotionless civilisation with space faring capacities which, as of the 1950ies, was dying from the aftermath of a devastating nuclear war of their homeworld combined with an epidemix which caused their blood to evaporate.
The look very similar to humand but with white pupil-less eyes. They are telepathic and, focussing their eyes on a subject, capable of hypnosis and even killing by destroying the optic and nervous tissues of the victim. They feed on a black liquid containing all the nutrients they need. They are very sensible to loud sounds, which can be very painful to them.
In 1957, they sent a scoutto study the effects of Human blood in their own biology, but after they lost contact with him, they decided not to go on any further with potential invasion plans. A fact they never knew, their scout had in fact died in a car accident.
The alien had brought with him a non-sentient creature from his home planet, which resssembles a mix between an octopus and a flying umbrella and which could attack people by jumping at their head and covering it with its surface.

BYNARS

Planet of Origin: Bynaus, a planet oribiting the star Beta Magellan, in the Milkty Way galaxy within a 1000 light years of Earth.
The Bynars are a species os short genderless sentient humanoids with lilac skin and enlarged skulls. They have a patch of dark purple hair on both sides of their neck and asymmetrical ears. They work and live in pairs, usually with a matching asymetries to equate to a symetry. Their primary language consists of high-frequency sounds, unintelligible to humans but they are able to change frequencies down to communicate with other species.
They developed a technologically advanced civilisation in such a way that at birth, each bynar's parietal lobe is surgically removed and replaced by a synaptic processor taht allows them to connect directly to a central master computer they built on their homeworld. Every Bynar is equipped with a buffer, carried at their waist, to help them manage the  rate of information they send and receive.
In 2364, due to a nearby star going nova, they were temporarily forced to shut down their computer which caused a planetwide black out.

BA'KU

Planet of origin: Unknown, relocated to Ba'Ku, a ringed planet in The Briar Patch, AKA Klach D'Kel Brakt, in the Milky Way, a region containing dangerous space matter including the remains of supernovae, false vacuum fluctuations, metaphasic radiation and at least two habitable planets, one of which was Ba'Ku.
The Ba'ku are a humanoid species almost indistinguishable from humans, which, in the early 21st century, developed a civilization capable on space travel as well as the means of building weapons of mass destruction which brought them to the brink of self-annihilation. A small, enlightened group of the Ba'ku people escaped the horror of their homeworld and found an isolated planet where they followed a simple way of life and prohibited themselves from using technology. The metaphasic radiation in the planet's rings caused their aging process to significantly decelerate, making them nearly immortal.
A younger generation, eager to explore the galaxy, rebelled against their elders. Unsuccessful, they were exiled in the late-23rd century and eventually became the Son'a people, a nomadic interstellar power, living under the direction of the Son'a Command. Narcissistic and materialistic, they put great values in metals and ores and raided inhabited worlds for these resources, often using slave labor. Without the regenerative effects of the Ba'ku homeworld's metaphasic radiation, they became infertile and worked heard ot retard their death by any possible means, including genetic manipulation and surgical techniques. Some sociologists attributed their aggressive behavior to desperation.
In 2375, First Contact between the Ba'ku and the Federation was established during a failed cultural observation mission, when a monitoring post was discovered on the planet. This came at a moment of tensions between the Ba'ku, the So'na, the two groups were reunited.

ELDAR / SPACE ELVES

Planet of origin: Unknown, in the Milky Way galaxy
The Eldar are an ancient race of tall and slender extremely very long-lived human-looking humanoids, with much faster metabolic rates than humans, as well as better reflexes and a superior intellect. They were created by the Old Ones some 65 millions years ago to serve in their War against the C'Tan and their Necrons servants. Following the departure or disparation of their makers at the end of the war, they became a dominant species in the Milky Way galaxy. They possess strong psychic powers and have a fair amount of their population endowed with some level of prescience.
It is so believed that within the upcoming 28 000 years, they will come close to extinction, with survivors existing in a few wondering craftwords, planetoid sized spaceships, hiding among the stars. The reason of their fall will come from within, as consumed by arrogance and with no need for substantial work , the pursuit of their desires will lead them toward a path of instant fulfillment and unbridled violence. The psychic emanations of these activities will give the Eldar vices a life of its own, a consciousness known as Slaanesh, the Devourer of Souls, whose psychic scream of birth will tore the souls from all the Eldar within a thousand light years of it and plunge the Eldar homeworlds into a limbo of partial existence, a region which will become known as the Eye of Terror, a bridge between real space and the Warp, the psychic imprint of all the souls within the Milky Way.
Much of Elda culture is based around their mythological cycles. The most famous of these cycles was the War in Heaven, an epic conflict between the Eldar deities, in two factions lead by Vaul, the god of the forge, and Kaela Mensha Khaine, the god of war, which is based on the war the Old ones led against the C'Tan and their Necrons servants some 65 millions years ago.
Eldar technology is notable for its use of Spirit stones, wraithbone and the Webway.
The Eldar use spirit stones to capture, contain and protect their souls at the moment of death. These stones are then collected and inserted into their Craftworld's "Infinity Circuit", where they may rest along with the spirits of their ancestors. In times of need, the spirit stones of the Craftworld's strongest warriors may be taken from the Infinity Circuit and placed inside Wraithbone automatons to once again fight for the Craftworld.
Wraithbone is the main construction material of the Eldar, and the staple of their psycho-technic engineering. It is pyschic energy solidifed into mattter through psychic power. It is a psychic conductor and so not only provides the structure for the things built of it, but also power distribution and communications. Wraithbone is a highly resilient material, and capable of limited self-repair. It, and the other building materials of the Eldar, will grow and react more like tissue and plants than the building materials of other races.  Every Eldar Craftworld contains an Infinity Circuit, which is the Wraithbone skeleton of the Craftworld . Within this matrix the souls of all the Craftworld's dead reside in a form of group consciousness, providing both a well of psychic power for the ship and a massive ancestral mind to advise and guide the living. The Infinity Circuit is the closest thing that the Eldar have to an afterlife; if their souls are not caught and integrated into it, they will be lost into the Warp and subject to its perils. For this reason the Eldar will defend their Craftworlds with a fury and tenacity almost unrivaled; they risk losing not only their home but their souls and that of their ancestors.
The Eldar travel through the galaxy by use of the Webway,  a system of ancient "tunnels" through  the Warp but completely isolated from its inherent dangers. It is a vast and tangled network of doorways between fixed points in real space, by which the Eldar can travel far more rapidly than most races.

FLYING SAUCERS ALIENS

The Flying Saucers Aliens are a humanoid species looking much like a frailer version of humans which developped an advanced technnological civilisation and achieved interestellar space travel technology. They had to flee their home planet and entire star system was destroyed when their sun went cold centuries ago. Claiming to be that those inside the saucer fleet orbiting the Earth  are the last of their species, they tried to invade Earth in the late fifties after some a dozen of artificial satellites had been put into orbit by Project Skyhook. After launching an attack on Washington, Paris, London and Moscow, they were destroyed by a weapon that could negate their saucers' magnetic propulsion system.

BO'MAR

The B'omar are a sentient xenophobic humanoid species which developed an isolationist faster than light space faring civilisation that established itself on several worlds of the Delta Quadrant, the quadrant of the Milky Way opposite to the one Earth it in. Their government was known as the B'omar Sovereignty. Externally, they ressemble humans with the exception of a cranial ridge that prolonge itself to the end of their nose, which much flatter and wider than that other humans, with nostrils far apart.
The B'omar were neighbors with the Nassordin, with whom they had delicate trade negotiations.

PLAN 9 ALIENS / GRAVE ROBBERS FROM OUTER SPACE

Planet of Origin: Unknown
The plan 9 aliens are a humanoid species, looking almost undiscernable from normal humans, who have developed an advanced spacefaring civilisation, generally peaceful but ready to eradicate species which the predict might become a threat before they do. They travel through space using saucer-shaped ships equipped with heavy force field and operate from a network of at least 7 space stations.
They are known to have visited Earth in 1959 to study mankind and make contact with the planet's leaders. Their attempt was met with fear: as soon as their flying saucers were sighted in the sky over the united states of America, mainly Washington and California, they were greeted by heavy fire from the army.
To force mankind to better dispositions, they decided to use Plan 9, which consist of using a technology allowing the resurrection of the recently dead by stimulating their pituitary and pineal gland with remote controlled electrodes and using them to create an army of zombies.
After interviewing some humans, the judged the species dangerous as their development was putting them on a track to develop solarbonite, a substance capable of  "exploding sunlight molecules" (photons?) which they would be too immature to have at their disposition: "It is capable of exploding the particles that make up sunlight itself.  If contained in a weapon, it can set off a chain reaction that explodes sunlight,  along with anything the exploding sunlight touches, that will eventually destroy the universe, possibly at the speed of light itself."
The aliens ruled that mankind should be destroyed to prevent this from happening. Luckily, the humans they got in contact with managed to thwart their effort and the alien ship exploded while leaving the planet.

MARTIANS / TWEENIES / HALF-BREEDS

Planet of Origin: Mars
Martians are a humanoid species living on Mars which is genetically and socially compatible with Earth's humans but which possess "cold, analytical reasoning powers" but lack the "emotional drive and boundless energy of the Earthman".
After mankind began to travel to the red planet, tweenies - Half-human half-martians half-breeds - started being born (see picture). Thet weren't accepted on Mars and so had to be brought back to Earth where they were being taken care of by social services. mainly in asylums. Tweenies are generally more intelligent than humans or martians but look like normal humans with a "brush of wiry, dead-white hair that rose stiffly in all directions like porcupine-quills".
Note: Martians are actually never met in the stories conerning Tweenies but are believed to be human-looking as the stories tell of more than a thousand tweenies are known to have been born, so inter-species unions must have been somehow not against nature, although no details are given on that matter.

CAPTAIN LAZER

Planet of Origin: Unknown
Captain Lazer is a 10 feet tall humanoid lookin almost exactly like a normal human apart from its size. He can survive in outer space without any apparent hermetic space suit and can fire laser rays from his eyes. From his gear, it is clear that he comes from an advanced space faring civilisation. He appears benevolent toward humanity.

OUTER SPACE MEN / VENUSIANS / MEN OF VENUS / GUARDIAN ANGELS / COMMANDER COMET

Planet of Origin: Venus
The Venusians are sentient humanoids looking strikingly similar to humans who have developed an highly advanced civilisation capable of space faring on Venus, building cities of which Olympus is the largest. They are known to have visited Earth as early as circa 1000 BC, landing in the Greek Isles where they were likened to gods. They since have kept a close watch over our planet.
Men of Venus action figures where commercialised in the sixties. Their story was told at the back of their blisterpack:
From Olympus, largest of the great sky cities of Venus, the mighty cloud ship Cumulus sets forth. Like a fiery comet it blazes through the blackness of outer space toward our Earth. Its captain, Commander Comet, is a direct descendant of the mighty Zeus, leader of the historic first venusian expedition to Earth which landed near the Grecian Isles 3000 years ago. Commander Comet's present mission is one of routine surveillance and once within the atmosphere of Earth, his ship will join the great fleet of  Venusian crafts that float like clouds above our planet night and day, watching undetected over our world.

OUTER SPACE MEN / MEN FROM MARS / MARTIANS / LITTLE GREEN MEN / ALPHA 7

Planet of Origin: Mars
The Martians are short green skinned humanoids with a large head, wide eyes, pointy ears and a pair on antenna coming out of the top of their head. They developed an advanced civilisation capable of advanced space travel a long time ago when their planet was still able to sustain life. Some still survive deep below the surface but most have left their homeworld to wonder the cosmos, actively looking for a new home on whihc they could start anew.
Men of Mars action figures where commercialised in the sixties. Their story was told at the back of their blisterpack:
From below the surface of  the dying planet Mars, the descendants of a once great race live on. Above them the majestic cities have long since crumbled and the vast canals lie buried beneath a silent sea of rust red sands. With time and water running out, Alpha 7 and other members of the Martian Armada travel the galaxy in search of another suitable planet to make their own. Their  frequent reconnaissance missions and landings on our Earth have given rise to what most Earth men consider "wild stories" of "flying saucers" and "little green men".

AKRITRIANS

Planet of Origin: Akritri, a planet in the Milky Way situated on the side opposite to Earth.
The Akritirians are a humanoid species looking  much like the humans from Earth but for a slight ridging on their forehead which developed a warp-capable space faring civilization with a very harsh and oppressive irreversible legal system. They kept their criminals in an off-world penitencial space station where they were fitted with a synaptic stimulator which could induce them to kill each other by inducing aggression and paranoia.

IRATHIENTS / VOTANS

Planet of Origin: Irath,  a planet with two moons, one of which was habitable, oribiting the star Vysu in Votanis star system in the Milky Way Galaxy, which they shared with the Liberata and the Sensoth. Irath's sky has a red color to it and may have had a higher concentration of Nitrogen then Earth does
Irathients are a humanoid species that looks much like naturally althetic humans with broad and flat nasal bridges, reddish skin usually red hair.
They have developed a proud, tribal civilisation centered in their spiritual beliefs very closely to the natural world. into tribes and are often perceived by outsiders as aggressive. Their spiritual beliefs are made up of three idealized parts of the body: the Gyabire (the brain) the seat of intellect; the Gyagbe (the heart) the source of vitality; and he Gyargye (the stomach) the house of emotion.
As of 5000 years ago, they  fled their homeworld along with all the other species when their system underwent a stellar cataclysm.

KIMONIANS

Planet of Origin: Kimon, an earth-type planet orbiting a yellow star in the milky way galaxy.
Kimonians are a seemingly humanoid species looking much like a perfect if a bit taller version of humanity. They possess powerful psionic abilities such as telepathy, telekynesis - which is the basis of their craft- and teleportation with a range that allows them to send objects over interstellar distances. They also have the power to help individuals of some other species to develop psionic powers of their own.
They have developped a peaceful non-expansive pastorale advanced civilisation on their homeworld and have shown no interest in other worlds and other civilisations although they are known to accept humans of Earth among them providing they have a high IQ and succeed a very severe series of tests.
It remains unknown if the form under which we see them is their real appearance as they are known to influence perceptions of off-worlders on a regular basis.

NECRONTYR / NECRONS

Planet of Origin: Necrontyr, in the Halo stars regions of the Milky Way
The Necrontyr were a humanoid species which developed an advanced civilisation in the Halo stars regions, on the far reaches of the Milky Way galaxy. Short lived, their bodies blighted and consumed at an early age due the terrible cancers and other illnesses linked to the high levels of ionising radiation given off by their sun. They built in anticipation of their inhabitants' early demise, as the living were only brief residents living in the shadow of the vast sepulchres and tombs of their ancestors. They soon wandered off into space, hopeful to realise their species' potential free from the lethal energies of their birth star. Using stasis crypts and slow-moving antimatter-powered torch-ships clad in the living metal known as necrodermis to resist their millennia-long journeys. They made contact with the Old Ones, a more advanced spacefaring species nearly immortal species, and were astonished to learn that another species enjoyed such long lives while their own were so brutally short.
At the time, the great Necrontyr houses were engaged in civil conflicts known as the Wars of Secession. The Triarch, head of the Necrontyr, realised that the only hope of unity laid in turning toward an external enemy. So  they declared war on the Old Ones. The Necrontyr were pushed back to their homeworld where they developed an utter hatred towards all other forms of intelligent life and an implacable determination to avenge themselves upon their seemingly invincible enemies. Then one of their probes investigating a dying star discovered the C'tan entities of pure energy feeding upon the solar flares and magnetic storms of bloated red giants that had little conception of what the rest of the universe was. Diffused across areas larger than whole planets, their minds could not perceive the material universe so the Necrontyr sought their favour and oversaw the forging of physical shells for them to occupy. Incomprehensible forces were compressed into the living metal of the necrodermis bodies which the Necrontyr forged as the full power of the C'tan at last found form. As the C'tan focused their consciousnesses and became ever more aware of their new mode of existence, they came to appreciate the pleasures available to beings of matter and the other realities of corporeal life. The deliciously focused trickles of electromagnetic energy given off by the physical bodies of the Necrontyr all about them awakened a new hunger very unlike the one they had once sated using the nourishing but essentially tasteless energies of the stars. The powers of the C'tan manifested in the physical world were almost god-like and it was not long before the C'tan were being worshiped as the Star Gods the Necrontyr had named them. Perhaps they had been tainted by the material universe they had become a part of, or perhaps this had always been their nature even when they were bound to the suns they fed upon, but they proved to be as cruel and capricious.
With the help of the C'tan, the Necrontyr stood ready to begin their war against the Old Ones anew. The C'tan offered the Necrontyr a path to immortality and the physical stability their race had always craved. Their diseased flesh would be replaced with the living metal of necrodermis that made up their Star Gods' own physical forms. The C'tan swarmed about the biotransference sites, drinking in the torrent of cast-off life energy and growing ever stronger as they glutted themselves on the spiritual detritus of an entire species. It was only when the Silent King, head of the Triarch. emerged from the bio-transference process and looked upon what had become of his people that he saw the awful truth of the pact he had made. In that moment, he knew that the price of physical immortality had been the loss of his soul. The Necrons now enjoyed a unity that the Necrontyr had never known, though it was achieved through tyranny and the complete loss of individuality and emotion rather than by consent. The biotransference process had embedded command protocols in every Necron mind, granting the Silent King the unswerving loyalty of his subjects. He grew weary of this burden but dared not sever the command protocols, lest his subjects turn on him seeking vengeance for the terrible curse he had visited upon them.
The Necron legions set out into the galaxy in their Tomb Ships. Planets were razed, suns extinguished and star systems devoured by black holes called into being by the reality-warping powers of the C'tan. The Old ones colonies were besieged and the species they had nurtured became cattle for the obscene their hunger. As their individual appetites for mortal life energies knew no bounds, the C'tan ultimately began to fight amongst themselves. C'tan eventually devoured C'tan, until only a few were left in the universe. The Old Ones used their great scientific skills to genetically engineer servants with the capability of channeling psychic power to defend themselves and nurtured many potential warrior races, among which Eldars, Rashan and K'nib.
The Old Ones' psychically-empowered servant races spread across the galaxy. The C'tan empire was shattered. For all the destruction they could unleash, they were unable to stop the Old Ones advance but the growing pains and collective psychic flaws of the younger races threw their untapped psychically reactive energies into disorder. War, pain and destruction were mirrored in the bottomless depth of the Sea of Souls. The maelstroms of souls unleashed into the Immaterium by the carnage coalesced in the previously formless energies of the Warp. The Warp gate network of the Old Ones was breached from the Immaterium.Ultimately, beset by the implacable onset of the C'tan and the calamitous Warp-spawned perils they had themselves mistakenly unleashed, the Old Ones were defeated, scattered and finally destroyed. The survivors fled in deep space.
The  Silent King then led the Necrons in revolt against the masters. As the C'tan were impossible to destroy, each C'tan was sundered into thousands of smaller and less powerful fragments, then each Shard was bound within a multidimensional Tesseract Labyrinth, Though millions of Necrons had been destroyed, they were once more in command of their own destiny.
The Eldar had survived where the Old Ones had not and the Necrons, weakened by their expenditure of lives and resources in overthrowing the rule of the C'tan, could not stand against them. It would take millions of Terran years for the Eldar's power to fade, but what mattered is that the Necrons would be there to take advantage of it. The Silent King ordered the remaining Necron cities to be transformed into great tomb complexes threaded with stasis-crypts. His final command to his people was to sleep for 60 million years to awake ready to restore the Necron dynasties to their former glory. Then he destroyed the command protocols by which he had controlled his people for so long and took ship into the starless void of intergalactic space, to find whatever measure of solace or penance he could.
