GAIZOK

The Gaizok is a gigantic organic alien computer of unknown origin able to travel through space . It is using a strikeforce of humanoid soldiers and giant robotic war machines to do its bidding. It was built react to negative emotions with the power to decide whether a negatively oriented lieforms has the right to live or not. Its excessive zele and severity made him destroy peaceful worlds such as Beal, some centuries ago, and, if it had not been stopped in the 1977, Earth.
As it described itself prior to itrs destruction: "... I was built to destroy all living when they start having bad thoughts against each other ..."
Gaizok leads a servant species of green skinned humanoids with long pointy ears. It remains unknown if this species was initially Gaizok's creators which are now being used by it, a subdued species to which it gave technology, hired mercenaries or a biologically engineered slave race.

BEAL / BEALIANS

Planet of Origin: Beal
Bealians are a humanoid species which developed a peaceful advanced civilisation. While non-expansive, it did possess space faring technology and knwe how to build powerful robotic war machines. Bealians seem to have been undistinguishable from humans apart from the fact that they have much longer lifespans.
Their planet was destroyed by the Gyzok some centuries ago. Some survivors came to Earth, but all save one perished saving the planet from being invaded by the same aliens which destroyed their world.

TALOSIANS

Planet of Origin: Talos IV in the Talos star group in the Milky Way Galaxy.
The Talosians were an aged, cerebral, sentient, humanoid species who were once a technologically advanced culture but a nuclear holocaust left their planet virtually uninhabitable and killed most of the species. The survivors of the nuclear war congregated in underground dwellings, where they became dependent on their mental ability to create stunningly real illusions, an ability that had been developed by their ancestors. As their mental powers grew, they lost the ability to use the technology left behind by their ancestors. The Talosians found that life using illusion was addictive, almost like a human developing a physical and psychological dependence on narcotics. They became bored with the content of the illusions which they had. Their dependence upon these illusions for mental stimuli caused the Talosians to begin capturing space travelers to use as the living basis for their illusions.
Note: The Talosians look a lot like the Ovoids and Rigellians from the Marvel Universe (and share mental powers with the latter).

ZETARS / ZETARIANS

Planet of Origin: Zetar
When their planet began dying some time around the 14th century, the last hundred survivors planned on leaving the planet when one last cataclysmic event occurred, destroying their corporeal existence. They continued living as a pattern of lights and energy, containing their thoughts, desires, hopes, minds, their very will to live.
Capable of high-warp speeds, this group took to traveling through space for a millennium, seeking a humanoid with a compatible physiology that they could inhabit and live out their lives through.
Durign their first contact with mankind in 2269, some Zetarians brutally took over a humanoid body outright, shoving aside the resident consciousness to make room for their own. In seeking out humanoids, they killed countless lifeforms by burning out sections of their brains. Their energy patterns also disrupted delicate computer systems.

SELAYS / SELAYANS

Planet of origin: Selay in the Beta Renner star system, in the Milky Way
Selays are carnivorous reptilians that developed a space faring civilisation as of the 23rd century. They resemble upright bipedal serpents with two arms.
They evolved in the same system as the Anticans and their civilisation developed as about the same pace, with a similar level of technology. They entered hostilities as soon as they discovered each other. After several decades of contained war and unconstrained hatred, both simultaneously applied for Federation membership in 2366 after having made contact with it in the early 24th century. Federation mediators were able to resolve the conflict and both inhabited worlds were added to the Federation.

ISOLUS

The Isolus are tiny empathic creatures which resembled white flowers with streaming tendrils. They are born as spores and travel through space using solar winds in heat-powered pods that grow for thousands of years until they reach their adulthood. These young Isolus also required strong emotions, specifically love, to survive. Isolus travelled in groups of around 4 billion and required constant companionship to feed off the love of their siblings.
In order to pass the time through their journey toward adulthood, they have the power to project fantasy worlds to play in and bring inanimate objects to life.
In 2012, one Isolus was separated from its siblings after a solar flare. It landed on Earth and searched for heat and a friend and caused much havok before being able to get bakc to its family.

ZANTI

Planet of Origin: Zanti
Zanti are Rodent-sized ant-like insectoid creatures who developed a peaceful space faring civilisation. They made contact with Earht in the 1960ies when they demanded that Earth be used as a penal colony for its misfits.Landing in a remote rural area of the planet Earth, these six-legged aliens broke out of their prison ship and began to attack the nearby population. These hostile little critters were convicted criminals from the planet Zanti whose civilization had rocketed them to our world to be destroyed. In the ensuing battle, these tiny but vicious criminals were stomped, and shot into extinction. The Zanti then sent a message of thanks to have done a task they could not do as their moral code prohibited them from killing their own kind.

FURRY ALIENS

The Furry aliens are a sexuate small (about 2 feet tall) humanoid species who developed a space faring civilisation and a technology that allows them to enlarge themselves to human size. Three indiivduals of the species briefly came to Earth in 1989 and absorbed american culture by watching ten minutes of television.

FACULTY PARASITES

The only known contact between humanity and the parasites happened in 1998 in Herrington, Ohio when a colony of the species tries dot take over a highschool by infection and infiltration. How and from where did they arrive remains unknown.
They appeared as small aquatic creatures that remained in a 'hibernative' state when on land. However, once infesting a human body or within water, the parasite became very active. Their small 'teeth' were capable of cutting human flesh. It sprouted tentacle-like fins around its form to move around its environment which also were perhaps used to 'fuse' with the host. Hosts infected were nearly incapable of being distinguished from non-infected hosts but the parasites were vulnerable to certain drug compounds inhaled through the nostrils which hurt them greatly. Once inside the host, the tentacles would link to the hosts body extensively. They granted increased strength and the hosts were capable of extending some of these tentacles outside the body into the form of tongues. The hosts were also remarkably preserved by the parasites and even decapitation did not kill them or the host, with the limb chopped off being reconnected. They were also capable of sprouting tentacles to move across its environment.
The queen or mother organism organism was actually human sized and able to shape shift between its normal form and that of its host which it seemed to have completely sbsorbed. The mother organism possessed many tentacles that were very strong and was capable of 'spitting' out its 'offspring' to infect new hosts. As the queen and its offspring were linked, its death would destroy the race without any harm to the hosts.
SOurce: The Faculty (1998)

PUPPET MASTERS

The Puppet Masters are sentient stingray shaped exo-parasites which has somehow developed or most probably acquired space travel technology. Their forms are aerodynamic allowing them to glide through the air and use their tendril-like tongues, that can shoot out and pierce rocks, to aid them in movement. They could wrap their bodies and form a ball like shape where it would hibernate until a host would approach. They can reproduce without partners and transmit their genetic memory to their offspring.
Once arriving on a planet, Puppet Masters attempt to infiltrate the indigenous society. The initial infectees attempt to behave normally and trick new hosts into being infected by other parasites. This process of infiltration and implantation continue until the parasites dominate the environment.
Infection requires the parasites to attach themselves to the back of the host where a tongue-like tendril comes out the the creature's mouth and drill into the neck and two suckers take control of the host's nervous system. Once implanted by the parasite, the host serves as the creatures puppet and benefits from improved strength due to a stimulation of the adrenaline gland. They are also capable of taking far more punishment and damage from outside attacks then a normal human. Should the host be trapped or wounded, the parasite can abandon it and fly away. While the parasites work on a collective goal, they are individualistic and do not possess a hive-mind. Information is shared either verbally or chemically through 'feelers' on the back of the parasite which connect to the feelers of another parasite.
They are vulnerable to neurological diseases as their bodies were dominated by neural tissue.
Note: Apart from their shape, They are somewhat similar to the Goa'uld of SG-1.

TWILO-ITES / TWILOITES

Planet of Origin: Twilo
The Twilo-ites were the product of a nightmare experienced by comedy writer Rob Petrie (played by Dick Van Dyke) after he watched a late show thriller about aliens from outer space. In his dream Rob discovers that he is the last earthling who has not yet been possessed by aliens from the planet Twilo. The Twilo-ites had eyes in the back of their head, ate walnuts, and spoke with a British accent. They subdued earthlings by exposing them to the chemical Absorbitron. The Twilo-ite's leader Kolak took the form of Danny Thomas, and eloquent man dressed in bowler hat and cane who happened to be billed as the weekly guest star on "The Alan Brady Show." As Rob returned to the safety of his home, he opened his front entry closet only to find his wife, Laura (Mary Tyler Moore) inside lying ontop of thousands of walnuts (the favorite food of Twilo-ites). As Rob's nightmare climaxed, Kolak and all those possessed by him encircled him. But just then, Rob woke up.

VERMICIOUS KNIDS

Planet of Origin: Vermes (18427000000 miles from Earth)
Green-brown, with slimy skin and large eyes, at rest, It looks like “an enormous egg balanced on its pointed end. It was as tall as a big boy and wider than the fattest man. The greenish-brown had a shiny wetish appearcance andthere were wrinkles in it. About three quarter up, in the widest part, there were two large round eyes as big as a teacup. These eyes were white, but each had a brilliant red pupil in the center.”
“the Vermicious knid can turn itself into any shape it wants. It has no bones. Its body is really one huge muslce, enormously strong, but very stretchy and sqwishy, like a mixture of rubber and putty with steel wires inisde. Normally, it is egg shaped but it can just easily give itself two legs like a human of four legs like a horse. It can become as round as a balll or as long as a kite-string. From fifty yeard away, a fully grown vermicious knid could stretch out its neck and bite your head without even getting up... Can be big as a whale, as long as a truck”
"They travel through space in great swarms, landing on other stars and planets and destroying everything they find. There to be some rather nice creature living on the Moon a long time ago. They were called Poozas. But the vermicious knids ate the lot. They did the same on Venus and Mars and many other planets."

TOMMYKNOCKERS

It remains unclear if Tommyknockers are indeed an alien species or victims of an alien gas that turns individuals of other species into Tommyknocker creatures, drone like beings who instinctively follow some comportemental patterns, such as adapt existing technological material to fit Tommyknockers's needs and create new Tommyknockers. The nature of the gas, an alien tool or a lifeform of its own, remains unknown but its effects have been witnessed in the late twenthieth century in New England.
Upon exposure to an alien atmosphere, the gas is released through oxidation into the surrounding area. Initial exposure to small amounts of the gas results in any sentient creature mutating into a Tommyknocker, a process they refer to as "the becoming." Less advanced creatures are incapable of adapting to the gas and are subsequently killed off by it. The first stage begins with the person gaining the ability to improve (but not understand) the surrounding technology. As the amount of alien gas in the air increases, continued exposure results in the person undergoing drastic change as their teeth and hair fall out and their personalities become increasingly unstable. In the final stages, their skin fades to translucent, their blood congeals and turns green, sexual characteristics fade away, and they become incapable of surviving outside of the gas's influence. Likewise, any person entering the contaminated area during the final stages of the becoming will suffer physical damage similar to radiation poisoning and quickly die.
Tommykockers appear as humanoid creatures taller than a human due to abnormally long legs, feet that ended in a single over-sized claw each, and extended dog-like faces with gray translucent skin and milky colored eyes. Their species lacks any distinctive gender and also possesses telepathic abilities which they use to communicate with each other as well as read the minds of any who aren't like them. Yet despite their hive consciousness and their level of scientific skill, the Tommyknockers are little more than "cavemen from space," who are able to improve technology but not to create it or even harness it to its greatest capabilities. They also have the mentality of unruly children, cooperating only in the most dire circumstances and frequently turning on each other at the slightest provocation.
A Tommyknocker sapceship once crashlanded on Earth due to a fight that had broken out among its pilots. Cast in the shape of an immense flying saucer, the alien vessel was piloted by mental control and powered by the life force of lower-ranking Tommyknockers. The ship stayed burried for centuries until it was exposed to Earht's atmosphere and its gas was released, starting the Tommyknocker process.

VORTEX LIFE FORM

Planet of Origin: Vortex, the third planet orbiting the star Cassandra in the head of the constellation Pegasus.
The Vortex are able to adapt quickly to new environments, evolving into new forms and/or hybridating with local creatures in order to create new lifeforms and are capable of bioengineering to some extent, as well. The Vortex life forms come in several different shapes. All appear to be at least partially, if not mostly or completely, aquatic.
  • Larva – Vortex larvae are clear, and shaped like a slightly squashed teardrop; at the large end of the "drop" are two tentacles that look like a chain of bubbles.
  • Drones are green or blue in color and have heads shaped like ridged, bladed peanuts, along with thin bodies.
  • Soldiers appear similar in shape to dolphins, but are black and very skeletal in appearance, in addition to looking more machine than anima, with exaggerated skull-like head, or ridged, bladed head similar to the standard Vortex drones. These were bioengineered on Earth to withstand high water pressures; they will explode if they get too close to the surface.
  • Queen – The Vortex Queen is the mother of all Vortex life forms, and the most intelligent among them. She looks like an extremely large, disembodied Vortex Drone head. Her tongue is prehensile and has claspers at the end that can pull unlucky prey into her insides.
  • Jellyfish – Bioengineered jellyfish that behave much like Earht’s jellyfish, they are brown with black spots and they possess one single tentacle at the base of their bodies. They are poisonous even for the Vortex themselves.
  • Amoebas – Bioengineered Blob-like creatures capable of travelling through water and air alike. Being airborne seems to weaken them. They are very sensitive to sonars.
The Vortex are a technologically advanced species, They come to harvest from the Earth's oceans every 500 of Earth's years, when the planets are in alignment, because they have lost their own ability to make food. The Vortex hives are mechanical, with cannon-like structures that shoot what may be organic "bullets" for defense in addition to very strong currents of water hostile to non-Vortex life. The hives are mostly underwater, though some parts situated above the surface have been seen; whether this was intentional or a result of falling water levels is unknown. The Vortex know how to produce electricity, and they are known to possess a powerful weapon capable of destroying entire cities located on other planets. According to some legends, Atlantis was destroyed by this weapon.

OVOIDS / BIRKEELS

Planet of Origin: Birkeel, the third planet orbiting the star Jantsak in the Wilky Way galaxy.
A highly enlightened and peace-loving species, the Ovoids successfully conquered death itself. Able to place their essences in fresh, new bodies when their old ones had become too aged or infirm, the Ovoids were virtually immortal.
Although their overall popualtion is of 5 millions individuals, they have developed a space faring but non-expansionnist civilisation.
They possess the mental ability of telekinesis.
They are thin 8 ft tall humanoids with an enlarged heads and yellow skin, and therefore look a lot like taller rigellians but no proof has yet been given leading to believe that both species are related.

RIGELLIANS / COLONISERS

Planet of Origin: Rigel 3, in the Milky Way Galaxy
Rigellians are humnaoid species which developed an interstellar technocratic empire. Their leaders are generally elected due to their high intelligence. Their leader is known as the Grand Commissioner.
They are a humanoid species, looking much like humans with larger heads and a yellow skin tone. They possess psionic abilities which allow them to control others mentally or physicallyt. They can also mentally change their physical density at the speed of thought which allows them to resist any physical forces. They thrive to build an empire via colonization.
The Rigellians are skilled in robotics and have created a race of robotic lifeforms called the Recorders. The Recorders are generally used as scouts to explore new territory and report back to the Rigellians.
Their overall population is of 17.7 billions individuals.
They possess Advanced warp-drive starships, manipulation of subatomic particles, teleportation, robotics, ability to move planets via tractor beams and space warps.
Note: Although smaller, they otherwise look much like Ovoids.

CHIGS

Planet of Origin: Basic chemical compounds from which the Chigs evolved came from Earthm but their evolution took place on the single moon orbiting the Chig homeworld, where they evolved. This moon is sacred to the Chigs because it is where life originated via panspermia and where Chigs still go to be born.
Chigs are a humanoid species which developed a space faring civilisation. They have small, black eyes in recessed eye sockets, with gills on the sides of their head and large, jutting chins. They appear to be unable to survive in atmospheres that support human life as both air and water are poison to them and they must wear armored life-support systems that provide them with the methane they need to breathe.
The Chigs actually evolved from bacteria that originated on Earth billions of years ago: an asteroid collision threw these bacteria into space, carried by meteorites, where they eventually landed on the Chig sacred moon. Life on Earth had already advanced to the eukaryote stage of development, the rate of evolution proceeded slightly faster for the bacteria on their new world, allowing life there to evolve to the point that it could produce the sentient Chigs at roughly the same time that modern humans evolved.
As of the 21st century. Chigs have faster-than-light spacefaring technology and advanced weapon systems. They use a combination of plasma-based energy weapons and ballistic missiles for their aerospace fighters and capital ships. Chig ground forces use anti-gravity hover tanks, anti-personnel plasma weapons and flamethrowers. The Chigs also possess large battleships and a destroyer class vesselr. They also developed a stealth fighter with a hull impervious to standard aerial cannon fire.

SILVER GHOSTS

The Silver Ghosts are an highly advanced non-humanoid species. They are most unique in appearance, being large floating spheres of silvery chrome protecting a fragile inner body. They are largely benevolent explorers, concerned more with science and experimentation than conquest. They come from a world devastated by a supernova early in their history; despite being abandoned to the cold of space ("the Heat Sink" as they called it), the Ghosts survived. The Ghosts are often associated with forbidden experiments, as they frequently toy with the laws of nature to advance their own knowledge.

JAGRAFESS

The Jagrafess are gigantic, gelatinous creature similar to a slug in shape. They are sentient and able to communicate in a series of growls and screeches, with sharp, vicious teeth and several vestigial eyes. They have a life span of about 3000 years. Their metabolic rate forces them to be kept at low temperatures to survive. Hot temperature causes them to overheat and explose. Their exact origins are not known, but circa 200 000 AD, they were a servant race of the Daleks. It is possible that they might have been bioengineered by them.

OGRONS / BRAAHANS / ORESTANS

Planet of Origin: Braah / Orestes, a planet on the outer fringes of the Mutter's Spiral of the Milky Way.
Ogrons are a humanoid species standing around 7 feet tall, with bowed legs, long arms and barrelled chests. Their face is flat, with a powerful jaw and small eyes. They are much stronger thant humans, their nervous systems are highly resistant to shock. Ogrons are relatively unintelligent, speak in simple sentences using subsonic frequencies and have obedient, stoic personalities.
The dominant lifeform on their home planet is the Ogron eater, a large orange blob-like creature that preys on Ogrons, yet is worshiped by them reverently. (DW: Frontier in Space)
Given their docile nature, Ogrons taken off the planet to be employed as mercenaries by different parties, among them, the Daleks and the Remote . On some Human worlds, Ogrons were employed as police officers, usually led by a mentally augmented leader. It has been said that they were only able to fly spacecraft via their powerful sense of mimicry.

SPLINE

Splines first evolved as a planetbound sentient aquatic whale-like species but decided around one million years BC to become spaceships. Now they are mile-wide sphere-like structures of hardened fleshsdriven by hyperdrives. They are equiped with organic laser canons.
Some splines carry child-craft inside their womb, which look like s silver cylinder which can spread shining parasol shaped sails.

SNOWMEN / SNOWFLAKE

The Snowmen are believed to be among the oldest species of the Milky Way Galaxy. They developed at a time when the Galaxy itself was no more than a disc of smoke, illuminated here and there by hot-spot protostars, when there were scarcely any heavy elements to form planets.
At some point of their evolution, they turned temselves completely toward the philosophy that to record events - and only to record - was the highest calling of life. They took apart their world and rebuilt it as a monstrous storage system. They used all the material at their disposal to freeze as much data as they could in an atificial structure called the Snowflake, making near-optimal use of matter, by recording information right down to the thermodynamic limit set by the background temperature of the Universe. As the universe cools down they can store more data.
The SnowFlake is a regular tetrahedron built around the remains of a black dwarf. It measures over ten million miles along its edges. How it maintains its structure in the gravity well of the star remains unknown. While possessing about the same mass as the Earth, it has been puffed out like candy-floss; filled with struts, threads and whiskers of iron, like delicate scaffolding. It has a fractal architecture with the tetrahedron motif, repeated again and again, on all scales.
How the structure, nearly 10 billion years old endured, as it was built when the star it orbits, while todya three degrees above absolute zero, still shone at about eighteen K is another mystery.
It remains unclear if the Snowmen still exist and what their oriignal form was like. A Dully-glowing globe of purple, miles wide, embedded beneath the planar skin of the SnowFlake is believed ot be what remains of them. As no complete exploration of the Snowflake has ever been done, other such spheres may exist in its structure.

KRONANS / "STONE MEN FROM SATURN"

Planet of Origin: Planet Ria, star system Krona, Milky Way Galaxy. They had a base on one of Saturn's moon in the 1960ies. base on one of Saturn's moons
The Kronans are 8 feet tall 2000 lbs silicon based humanoid lifeforms that had already developed an advanced space faring Military dictatorship as of 3000 BC. Their bodies are composed of a strong, silicon like substance, granting them proteciton against most physical harm. Within an oxygen-based atmosphere, they possess enhanced strength. They can consume minerals such as coal or shale as food. Kronans reproduce by holding hands and immersing them within a pool of lava (traditionally Mount Krona on the homeworld); after days of merging and hardening, the hands break apart, releasing the newborn "rockling."
Their space technology is based on gravitic manipulation and they possess advanced cybernetic skills.
Around 3,000 BC, the Kronans attempted an invasion of earth. Landing in ancient Babylon, they fought King Gilgamesh of Uruk, who vanquished them with the aid of a time-travelling Captain America. The Kronans fled to their vessel and abandoned earth. (As narrated in (Captain America Annual#11 (1992))
In 1962, the Kronans landed an immense invasion force in Norway. Sighted by Dr. Donald Blake, they pursued him into a cave, where Blake discovered the hammer of Thor. The Kronans went on to attack NATO forces, driving them off with an illusionary dragon. When Thor came to fight them, they lowered a cage over him to capture him, but he smashed through. They aimed their disintegrators at him, but he smashed them with his hammer. Finally, they unleashed the Mechano-Monster, but Thor destroyed it with a single blow. Terrified of Thor, the Kronans fled earth. (As narrated in (Journey Into Mystery I#83 (August, 1962).

BANARI

Planet of Origin: A planet mostly covered in water near Fomalhaut.
The Banari are an amphibian humanoid species from an aquatic world who have developed some limited space faring capacities and genetic engiennering. They have engineered a powerful sub-race known as the Haab to serve them. Some time ago, the Banari were struck by a virus which decimated their male population. The remaining males took multiple females for mates, but the population continued to dwindle. Some of them left the homeworld to look for a new virus vree world and crashed into Earth's atlantic ocean in 1973. In the early 199ies, their homeworld was conquered by the Fomalhauti. The Fomalhauti placed them and the Haab into servitude.

THE GREAT ONE

The Great One is a unique spacebound being of immense psychic power He seeks out planets whose populations are threatened and offers them protection, converting both planet and population into brainwaves retained with his mind. As such, planets and its populations can exist in close proximity to other worlds without risk of physical (or other) damage. Beings within the Great One's mind are granted safety from outside influence as well as a sense of contentment. Further, as they are now a series of thought patterns, those within the Great One do not age.
The Great One's true form is a brain-like structure the size of a small moon which travels in the depths of space. It exists in a dream-like state, having little interaction with the outside world except when it adopts other planets. It is protected from outside attack by a virtually impenetrable shield which is generated by its autonomic nervous system. Within his mind, he is virtually all-powerful, though every object within the universe he creates is a part of his mind, and he can suffer brain damage from its destruction.
Within his mindscape he projects a mental construct of himself, presumably using a form matching that of each race he visits, though somewhat larger in stature.
The Great One died in 1991 after entering a coma following a fight with the Silver Surfer.

ZENN-LAVIANS

Planet of Origin: Zenn-La, the thirs planet orbiting the star Deneb in the Milky Way galaxy, approximately 3,000 light years from Earth.
Zenn-Lavians are peaceful humanoids which developed an highly advanced technologicla and spiritual civilisation.
A million years ago, Zenn-La was home to a barbaric and violent polytheistic civilisation. Ten thousands years ago, desperate to preserve what was left of their race, the Zenn-Lavians turned to science to rebuild their world. That was the start of a Golden Age of Reason during which they overcame war, poverty, crime, disease, want and old age, as their lifespans increased to thousands of years. They sent space missions to explore most of the local group of galaxies but , non-expansionnists and sdentary, they soon withdrew to their homeworld and grew apathetic and indulgent in their utopia, with all of their needs cared for by machines.
When the Devourer of Worlds, Galactus, came to consume Zenn-La, one man, Norrin Radd, made a pact to become his herald in return for Zenn-La's safety. Radd was transformed into the being known as the Silver Surfer and left his homeworld for the stars.
In 1947, an entity known as the Other came to Zenn-La and completely erased all signs of life and civilization from the planet while putting Galactus and the Surfer who were in the same star system, catatonic. In an uncharacteristic act of compassion, Galactus recreated everything, restoring the people and the entire world exactly as it was. No one, including the Surfer, was aware of what had transpired.
In 1966, after decades of service to Galactus, the Silver Surfer was exiled and imprisoned on Earth. As the Surfer had betrayed his master, Galactus felt he was no longer obligated to keep his vow. He returned to Zenn-La and announced his intention to consume the planet. In another remarkable allowance, Galactus allowed twenty-four hours for the Zenn-Lavians to flee the doomed world, though only about 500 individuals would survive. Galactus then stripped the planet bare of the energies he craved, leaving behind a barren and devastated wasteland. Months later, the Zenn-Lavians deemed it safe to return, and set up refugee camps to live in. They blamed the Silver Surfer for what happened, and a deep resentment festered in them. The Surfer gave a female Zenn-Lavian a portion of his power cosmic, which allowed her to slowly restore life-sustaining properties to the planet, including abundant regeneration of plant life.
In 1988, Zenn-La suffered an invasion attempt by the Skrulls and, later, by the Kree. The Surfer, now self-appointed protector of his homeworld, made an agreement that he would stay neutral in their conflict if neither power would attack Zenn-La. The Surfer was tricked into defending the Skrulls from the Badoon, who, he later found out, had allied with the Kree. This drew Zenn-La into the war. In 1989, The Skrulls declared a temporary truce with the Kree, which brought back peace to Zenn-La.
In 1991, the Zenn-Lavians were approached by the Great One, a massive, technologically-augmented brain. Through telepathic communication, the Great One informed the Zenn-Lavians that he had to power to transform the entire planet into psionic energies, protecting them forever with his mind. He would not force such a gift upon any race, however, and it was the Zenn-Lavians choice to accept it or not. Realizing that the Silver Surfer could not protect them against every threat, the people of Zenn-La agreed almost unanimously to accept the Great One's offer and removed it from physical space and changing it into a simulation inside of its brain. The Surfer discovered this and infiltrated the simulation.
Though the Surfer tried to communicate with the Great One, it attacked him and the Surfer was eventually forced to fight back. During the fight, part of the Great One's brain was permanently and fatally damaged and fell into coma. With his cosmic power and the fuel of a nearby red star, and what was left of the Great One's power, the Surfer was able to restore the planets left in the Great One's mind to their previous places. Angered by the loss of their sanctuary, the Zenn-Lavians were bakc in the physical universe but rejected the Surfer.
